Overhaul of the Training Files
FAQ and Installation guide
- FM Compatibility: Only works with FM24
- Current save compatibility: fully compatible with running saves. Install the file and run the game normally
- Network games: All players need the same “simatch.fmf” file.
- Instant result: Affects all games in full detail (player & AI), whether watched, simulated, or using instant result.
- Editor data mods: Works with Daveincid’s realism mod; other mods need testing.
- Gegenpressing tactic: Will work, but it becomes harder due to fatigue and player intensity needs.
- Set pieces: No direct effect, but there may be knock-on effects related to heading.
- Comparison with other mods: The team’s mod is more advanced than others like Chinese or Asian Fusion mods.
- FM commentary pack: Works with Metz’s FM commentary pack; follow the provided instructions for setup. Follow instructions in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83qubT6QKIA&t=628s) made by one of us (credit to @EvensenFM).

Network Game Information
Yes, network games are supported by our engine. However, to ensure proper synchronization, all players must have the same simatch.fmf file.
Important Notes for Hosting:
If you are the host and have a different Match Engine (ME) version than your friends, only your results will count. Your friends’ matches will essentially be simulated using the host’s ME, meaning their decisions (except for formation changes) will not influence the game. While they may see a different match on their screens, the final score and stats will still be determined by the host’s ME.
How to Verify File Consistency:
Before starting a network game, check the following:
- The file is named simatch.fmf
- The file size matches across all players
- The file is placed in the data folder
Installation Instructions:
Go to your FM24 main directory, and depending on your machine it should be like this
- Steam: Program files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 2024/data
- Epic Games: Program files/Epic Games/FootballManager24/data
- Mac: your username/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 24/data
- Gamepass: wherever-you-install-your-gamepass-games/Football Manager 2024/content/data
- Linux: Home > .local > share > steam > steamapps > common > fm24 > data
You’ll see a bunch of files there with the FMF extension. Rename downloaded file to “simatch.fmf” Put the file into said folder, overwrite old simatch.fmf file If you want to keep the old simatch.fmf file, save it somewhere else or change its name. You can also get it back by verifying your game files
